The experience totally blew us away!
Dear Michael,
When we arrived at our first Inner City Slicker event we had no idea what to expect. We never could have imagined that the experience would totally blow us away! Watching the kids come in, some very closed and obviously not wanting to participate, and then quickly change their attitude was amazing. Learning trust, overcoming fear, and learning to face challenges head-on gives the kids tools to take with them and apply to their own …life. It is not only the kids who benefit. The wranglers, cooks, and many volunteers, take away a feeling of accomplishment, a bit of cowboy wisdom, and the wonderful memories of working with kids and knowing they have made a difference.
With kids, it is much easier to stimulate action rather than stop action. Inner City Slickers does exactly this. It gets the kids moving, thinking, and headed in a positive direction. Perhaps, the best part of what Inner City Slickers provides for the kids is hope.
We are honored to be involved with Inner City Slickers and look forward to changing many kids’ lives!
